Sometimes when I listen to music I imagine I am a rock star. In reality, while I CAN read music and play an instrument, I just don't have the talent to create it. But that doesn't mean I can't be a CROCHET rock star. Speaking of rock stars, my absolute favorite, Lindsey Stirling, has the cutest hat: I desperately want one. Now I could have just looked it up and bought it somewhere, but I'm a crochet designer!! So I tried designing my own. I had this soft fuzzy yarn called "angel hair" sitting around that I hadn't figured out a use for. It looked kind of like fur... Next, I had to figure out what sort of stitch would add to the furry effect. I settled on this stitch: It's called double loop stitch. I had never done it before so I had to learn how to do it first. But I already had a visual in my head of how I needed to put the pieces together and that helped. Still, when you are making your own pattern from scratch things can get a little...iffy. You don't really have any idea if what you are doing is actually going to work until it's completely finished because you have nothing to go by. Luckily for me, it worked! I still have a few bugs to work out, but I think it came out pretty well.
