A few weeks ago I was asked to build a fashion house in Minecraft. I'm not sure if that is the actual technical term but basically it would be a place where people could get together to have skin (Minecraft avatar) competitions. In essence, fashion shows. I've never been to a fashion show myself and have only seen a few snippets on TV but this sounded like fun. I immediately googled "fashion shows" to get some inspiration. Well....the inside of the building was no problem but there aren't many pictures of the exteriors of these places. It was up to me and my own imagination. To me fashion is the epitome of posh. So I decided to use the most expensive and classy materials possible: quartz, gold, glass... I wasn't really thinking how difficult it could be while designing it but then I had to gather all these things. Oh boy. I spent hours upon hours in my least favorite place: the nether. If you don't play Minecraft then I can tell you it is as awful as it sounds. No water, hellish rock, zombie pig people, various fire breathing monsters, skeletons that specialize in withering your life away and of course endless oceans of lava. For some reason.....quartz can be mined in such a place and I needed loads of it. It was all worth it though. Once I finished my work I was rather impressed with myself. My server's community now had a beautiful building to lounge and socialize in and I had the satisfaction of saying I built that thing! Here's a picture of the exterior. If you were participating in the show here would be your view while on the runway. If you were a judge you would have a clear view of not only the runway, but the VIP seating, the dressing rooms, and the intricate glass ceiling. I think the ceiling is my favorite part. If you're not a contestant, a judge or a VIP you would ascend these stairs to get to the general seating. And here it is! The whole second floor is for general viewing. The view from up here is pretty good too! One of the best seats in the house! And here is the exit in case you were wondering. Haha! Hope you enjoyed the tour!

So I don't know about you but during the week there is so much to do that by the time you get home you end up just lying around to catch your breath. Things like cleaning and straightening take a back burner and pretty soon your house starts to look like the Tasmanian Devil blew through it. But! If you leave it too long things get....ugly. So every Friday I have a quick clean sweep. Not totally thorough but enough so that I'm not lost in mounds of mess. I thought it would be funny and a bit interesting to record this process and speed it up. So I guess if you like speed videos this one is for you! I sure wish I could actually clean that fast. I never want to clean but once I'm doing it, it's kind of therapeutic. So you would think that I wouldn't be so resistant to it. Though just watching this video I can clearly see the effort put into straightening. It makes me realize you should never underestimate the effort everyone puts in every day big or small. Life is hard and every little thing that you do to move forward counts. Don't let anyone tell you that your effort is too little or insignificant. My Grandma had this saying that I never really understood. She would say, "Whatever floats your boat!" and now that I'm older I get it. Whatever keeps you going in life you should keep doing it. Other people have other methods and you have yours. As long as it works for you and it isn't hurting anyone it doesn't matter what you are doing. At the end of the day if you made an effort that's all that matters.
