The hand warmers came out really nice! Here's the birthday girl with them on! My mom made the gift bag and card. She did a really nice job. So if you'd like to see more of her stuff you can visit her here: www.sylviamoon.weebly.com These particular hand warmers were deceptively hard. It took all my brain power. Next week I'll have to pick up the slack!

When something is a part of you for many years it can be extremely disorientating when it no longer is. Though as "out of it" as I feel, I haven't been entirely unproductive! Here is a very sunny ensemble I most recently created. The hat was from a pattern but the hand warmers I created myself. Though basic they are effective! You can also see a tiny bit more of my workspace in the background including my very soft Technicolor leopard print pillows. See if you can spot anything else interesting!
I am also creating something for a friend's birthday and I've only got until the end of this week. 0_0 I will be posting pictures of it. Stay tuned! After 5 years of hard work, dedication, and loyalty to my place of work, the DeKalb Public Library, it would seem I am to be cast aside like a piece of garbage.
In these situations it is amazing how people you admired for their poise and intelligence suddenly become horrifically childish in their capacity to disappoint you in ways you never thought possible. So in light of this, the crochet club that I have been hosting this past year: Stitch Niche, is now effectively on hiatus until I find a new location for everyone to meet. Thank you all for your understanding and support. So here is what my workspace looks like now... Not too much difference except that it looks neater. xD Though, I noticed something when I was at the Sandwich Fair last weekend: These goats are wearing little sweaters in my theme colors! Looks like I have some woolly fans. Haha!
Also, just an FYI, I am now taking orders for Christmas. So if you are looking for a great gift for someone or need something warm this winter yourself feel free to contact me. Eventually I will have a little shop on this site! Just the other day there was a sale at Hobby Lobby. There is no greater time than a sale to get yarn! So I decided to check it out only intending to get a few skeins or so. Then my mom pointed out the clearance section.... Well needless to say I bought A LOT of yarn. Oops. Anyway, to contain all this yarn I also got some lovely zebra print bins. But before you get to see the after pic, here is what my workspace initially looked like back in April: As you can see the living room, complete with TV, is my lair. The updated version I will post next. In the meantime, here are some more pictures of me working on the mother of all afghans. Which is thankfully complete and the recipient loved it! Yay! You can actually see the squares stacked on the table in the picture above. This picture came out a little blurry, but I think you get the idea. I am really concentrating there! The afghan took up the entire room. It was about 4 x 6 feet. And in case any of you were wondering, this pattern was from Mary Maxim. It was a kit that came with a hook, all the yarn, and the pattern. Pretty awesome really.
