I don't remember if I announced this in my blog yet, but I am now an official certified teacher on Curious.com! It's a pretty nifty site where you can find tutorials on how to do just about anything. Best part is, unlike Youtube, you don't have to sift through a million different videos just to find what you are looking for. Curious gets right to the point. So you can imagine that I was pretty honored to be invited to become an instructor. And....drum roll please....my first official lesson: How to Crochet a Cupcake Hat is now up on my profile!! Best of all, I get paid for these tutorials. And me getting paid for tutorials means that I can afford to create even more content, patterns, and products for all of you!
So go check it out and see what you think! I will be putting more up on my profile as time goes by. I will also still be posting other tutorials on my Youtube channel as well. As always, stay tuned! =)

Hey all! Once again I've disappeared for a month. xD Buuttt! I've been super busy because I've got great news! I will now be creating tutorials for Curious.com! I can create lessons so that you all can interact with me a bit more, plus they'll be paid tutorials so every time you enroll in one of my lessons, not only are you learning something fun, but you'll be supporting me too! And best of all it combines two things I love most: videos and crochet. Yay! I will still be posting tutorials on my Youtube channel for free as well, so no worries there. Though definitely not as frequently as those on Curious. I'm so excited about this! I've also been up to a few other things. Most crochet related, a few not. To get the full scoop check out this vlog: My Studio is finally finished! Well....sort of. There are a lot of finishing touches that I still need to do but I know will take me months. But it's mostly aesthetic. Otherwise my room is fully operational! Woohoo! Since I'm limited on space, and have a LOT of interests besides crochet, it is not your typical studio. But I've never been a typical person either! As you can see, I'm already happily enjoying my new crochet space. Though you can't even see the crochet wall in this picture. I promise it is there!
Finally! All the furniture has been either moved in or out of my house and now starts the real challenge (as if that first part wasn't hard enough!). Now I've got to design my studio! I had some ideas in mind, but the workable space in your head almost always differs from the actual workable space in reality. Nevertheless, I didn't misjudge that by a lot. I've already gotten started.... And as you can see I'm far from finished! What you can't see is all the clutter and shelves lying about that I need to sort through. But there is definitely a lot of floor space which I like. And the bed on the floor is LOVELY!
There isn't much to see at the moment, but when I want something done I work fast! So more updates soon! And don't forget that a proper studio will soon mean lots of cool projects, paintings and crochet! ;) Hey all! So last week I ran into a bunch of problems. The internet wasn't working and my video editing program died on me. I felt really really bummed. And it was at this point I was grateful for the simplicity of my crochet.
You don't have to have an account, monthly fees, or special technological program or gadget to crochet. All you need is a hook, yarn, and your two hands. That's it! I have read that crocheting can help you if you suffer from depression and I wholeheartedly believe that. Our world can get really complicated and overwhelming really fast. So it is nice to be able to sit down and be able to do something that doesn't have so many requirements of us. Not to mention the yarn is soft and counting stitches can be a lot like counting sheep. It gets your mind off your problems and can be very soothing. It got me thinking how important it is to have a hobby. Possibly multiple hobbies. Because life is stressful and we all need some sort of relief. And if one hobby has gotten "stuck" it's great to have your other interests to pull you through! I obviously got my internet back, but my video problems are still ongoing. Which is sad because I enjoy making videos as much as I love my crochet. BUT! It isn't the end of the world, and will hopefully be fixed soon. Plus there was a bit of a silver lining to all this as well. Because I wasn't spending as much time creating videos or surfing the net I started cleaning out all the junk in my room. So now I am that much closer to having the crochet studio of my dreams! |
